Accreditations
CURRENT ACCREDITATION / APPROVALS
UKAS
UKAS (formally NAMAS) accreditation was granted in 1991 and ILS were one of the first laboratories to gain accreditation to ISO 17025:2005.
Current Scope of Accreditation
Marks & Spencer (M&S) ISA
Following a successful M & S Independent Supplementary Audit (ISA) ILS Food Division has been awarded compliance for a range of Marks & Spencer plc tests.
DEFRA/VLA Approval
ILS Food Division also has approval from DEFRA/VLA under the Animal By Products Regulations 2005 for the testing of Salmonella and Enterobactericeae.
MHRA Approval
ILS are currently named on well in excess of 100 product licences therefore ILS Pharma Division is regularly audited by the MHRA for compliance with GMP regulations (2003/94/EC as they relate to QC laboratories).
FDA Approval
ILS Pharma Division is also inspected by the FDA and we are proud to state that no ‘483’ observations have ever been raised in our 25 year inspection history.
SAFEcontractor

ILS are SAFEcontractor approved and accredited
SEDEX

ILS is member of SEDEX ethical data supply base.

TESCO Laboratory Approval Scheme (TLAS)
NB: This accreditation does not come into force until January 1st 2011 the information below is just to inform ILS customers and prospective customers that ILS are involved in the process to become accredited by the specified date.
Food testing laboratories joining the scheme can register from October 2009 and the supplementary audit required will start from January 2009.
Food testing laboratories joining the scheme will need to be UK based, undertaking work on products manufactured for Tesco, holds UKAS or other specified accreditation and carries out food testing for Salmonella, Listeria, Campylobacter or E. coli O157
